AFM Update: there have been a raft of sales for James D’Arcy’s feature directing debut Made In Italy

As AFM gets underway, there have been a raft of sales for James D’Arcy’s feature directing debut Made In Italy coming in Q3 2020 from Cinesky Pictures.

Liam Neeson stars opposite his real-life son Micheál Richardson in the story of a bohemian London artist who returns to Italy with his estranged son to make a quick sale on the villa they inherited from his late wife, only to find it in a desperate state of disrepair.

Deals have been struck for Germany and Austria (Leonine), Switzerland (Impuls), Greece (Odeon), Portugal (Nos Lusomundo), Scandinavia (Nordisk), Spain (A Contracorriente), Turkey (Bir), Poland (M2), Israel (Shoval), Middle East (Front Row), India (PVR), South Korea (Aud), Taiwan (Cai Chang) and Latin America (California Filmes). Other new deals on the title include Bulgaria, Czech Republic/Slovakia, Hungary and Romania (Prorom), former Yugoslavia (Discovery), CIS (Unicorn), Baltics (Acme), ships & airlines (Cinesky), South Africa (Ster Kinekor), Singapore (Shaw) and southeast Asian TV (Fox Premiere).

The comedy drama shot in London and Tuscany also stars Lindsay Duncan and Valeria Bilello as, respectively, a no-nonsense ex-pat who catches the attention of Neeson’s character Robert and a young Italian chef who captures the heart of Richardson’s Jack.

The producers are Pippa Cross and Sam Tipper-Hale for CrossDay Productions, with HanWay’s Gabrielle Stewart, CrossDay’s Janette Day and Ingenious Media’s Peter Touche and Anders Erden as executive producers. Ingenious Media fully financed the production.

Other titles featuring prominently for CINESKY at AFM include The Kindness of Strangers (Bill Nighy) , Song of Names (Clive Owen), Escape from Pretoria (Daniel Radcliffe), and Radioactive (Rosamund Pike).
